Katharine Timoney is a jazz and soul singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland. Her music combines elements of vocal jazz and retro soul with contemporary production. Drawing inspiration from powerhouse voices like Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone, her upcoming record produced by British saxophonist Ben Castle (Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter) features pianist Mark Edwards, drummer Darren Beckett and bassist Arnie Somogyi.
In 2022, Timoney's EP 'Life Came into Colour' caught the attention of JazzFM. Her lead single 'Don't Fret' spent four weeks on the station's A-List with 'Track of The Week' spots from DJs' Nigel Williams, Yolanda Brown and China Moses. The EP currently sits at over 500k streams with editorial support from Spotify. Katharine took to the stage at Cheltenham Jazz Festival this year and most recently with the Ulster Orchestra as part of BBC Northern Ireland's 100th anniversary concert 'A Century of Stories' presented by Christine Lampard and televised on BBC One NI.
